GST/HST Invoice Generator (Canada, 2026)
A Canadian invoice that lets a business buyer claim input tax credits must show your name, the date and the total; from $100 also your GST/HST registration number and the GST/HST charged; and from $500 also the buyer's name, the payment terms and a description of each supply. Rates depend on the province: 5% GST, 13% to 15% HST, plus PST or QST in some provinces.
For businesses and freelancers billing their own real sales. An invoice or receipt for a supply or payment that did not happen is a false document. Figures are entered by you and are not checked by AiStaffo.

Worked example
A $2,000 job in Ontario: HST 13% = $260, total $2,260.00. The same job in Quebec: GST 5% = $100.00 plus QST 9.975% = $199.50, total $2,299.50. Office chairs worth $2,000 delivered in British Columbia: GST $100 + PST $140, total $2,240.00.
Which province's tax applies?
For goods it is generally the province where they are delivered; for services, broadly where the customer is. Choose the province of supply and every taxable line gets the right GST, HST, PST or QST. Mark lines that are GST/HST-only (PST-exempt), zero-rated or exempt.
PST and QST registration
British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan run their own PST (RST in Manitoba), and Quebec its QST. If you are registered, enter the number; the invoice shows it below your GST/HST number. Small suppliers under $30,000 a year in taxable sales do not have to register for GST/HST.
For businesses: let the invoicing run itself
Canadian invoicing feeds GST/HST returns, provincial filings and receivables follow-up. Raising invoices, matching payments and chasing overdue clients is routine work an AI worker can run end to end, with your team only checking exceptions. Book a free automation audit and we will show you what it would take off your desk.
Please note: rates and rules from the Canada Revenue Agency as checked on 21 October 2026. Place-of-supply rules and PST exemptions have many special cases; confirm with the CRA, your province or your accountant.
