Job Offer Letter Generator (Canada)
A Canadian offer letter states the job title, start date, salary, hours, vacation, probation, termination terms, benefits and conditions such as proof of work eligibility. Employment standards are set by each province (federally regulated employers follow the Canada Labour Code), and no letter can give less than those minimum standards.
For employers and recruiters making a real job offer. The letter uses standard wording for Canada; check it against your own policies before you send it. Prefer to type it yourself? Download the blank Word template.

What an offer letter should cover in Canada
| Who sets the minimums | Provincial or territorial employment standards; the Canada Labour Code for federally regulated employers (banks, telecoms, airlines and others) |
|---|---|
| Vacation | At least 2 weeks a year in most provinces, rising with service (3 weeks after 5 years in many) |
| Termination | At least the notice or pay in lieu the standards require; a termination clause that gives less is unenforceable |
| Payroll deductions | CPP (QPP in Quebec), EI and income tax are deducted from pay |
| Quebec | Written employment documents must generally be provided in French first (Charter of the French Language); take local advice |
| Work eligibility | Confirm the right to work in Canada and collect the Social Insurance Number on hire |

For employers
Offer letters are one step in a hiring routine that also covers screening, scheduling interviews, collecting documents and onboarding paperwork. AI workers can run that routine for you, with your team approving each offer. Book a free automation audit to see what it would take off your HR desk.
Please note: the wording follows the rules named on this page as checked on 21 October 2026. It is a starting point, not legal advice; employment law changes often and differs by state, province and emirate. Have senior or unusual offers reviewed by a lawyer.
