For employers

Offer letters are one step in a hiring routine that also covers screening, scheduling interviews, collecting documents and onboarding paperwork. AI workers can run that routine for you, with your team approving each offer. Book a free automation audit to see what it would take off your HR desk.

Please note: the wording follows the rules named on this page as checked on 21 October 2026. It is a starting point, not legal advice; employment law changes often and differs by state, province and emirate. Have senior or unusual offers reviewed by a lawyer.

Questions people ask

What must an Australian letter of offer include?
Nothing is prescribed for the letter itself, but it should state the employment type, the award or agreement and classification, pay and super, hours, leave, notice and probation, and you must give the Fair Work Information Statement.
How much super must be offered in 2026?
The super guarantee is 12% of ordinary time earnings. Say whether the salary is "plus super" or includes it; "plus super" is clearer.
What notice must an employer give in Australia?
Under the National Employment Standards, 1 week for up to a year of service, 2 weeks for 1 to 3 years, 3 weeks for 3 to 5 years and 4 weeks after 5 years, plus 1 week for employees over 45 with at least 2 years' service.
Can probation be longer than six months?
Probation is set by the contract, but an employee is protected from unfair dismissal after the minimum period of 6 months (12 months for small businesses with fewer than 15 employees), so most probation periods are 3 to 6 months.
Do casual employees get a letter of offer?
Yes, and they must also receive the Casual Employment Information Statement. Casuals get a casual loading instead of paid annual and personal leave.
Is this offer letter legally binding?
Once the candidate signs it, an offer letter can form part of the employment contract, so check every term before sending it. The generator writes standard wording from the rules named on this page; it is not legal advice, and you should have a lawyer review letters for senior or unusual roles.
