In-Hand Salary Calculator (India, 2026-27)
In-hand salary = CTC minus the employer's PF and gratuity (which sit inside CTC), minus the employee's PF, ESI and professional tax, minus income tax. For tax year 2026-27 the new regime is the default: a ₹75,000 standard deduction, slabs from 0% up to ₹4 lakh to 30% above ₹24 lakh, and a rebate that makes salary up to ₹12.75 lakh tax-free. Enter your CTC to see the monthly figure and which regime saves you more.

From CTC to in-hand, step by step
- CTC is everything the employer spends on you, including its own PF contribution and gratuity.
- Gross salary = CTC minus employer PF (12% of basic up to ₹25,000) and gratuity (4.81% of basic). It is split into basic + DA, HRA and special allowance.
- Deductions: your own PF (12%), ESI (0.75%) if gross is ₹21,000 a month or less, professional tax set by your state, and income tax spread over 12 months.
- In-hand is what is left and reaches your bank account each month.
Worked example
A CTC of ₹6 lakh in Delhi, basic at 50%, PF on the ₹25,000 ceiling, new regime: the employer's PF (₹3,000) and gratuity (₹1,203) come out of the ₹50,000 monthly CTC, leaving a gross salary of ₹45,798. You pay ₹3,000 PF and no income tax (taxable income ₹4.75 lakh is under the rebate limit), so in-hand pay is ₹42,798 a month. At a CTC of ₹18 lakh on the same terms, gross is ₹1,43,393 a month, income tax for the year is ₹1,34,308 including cess, and in-hand pay is ₹1,29,200 a month. The old regime would cost ₹1,80,722 more in tax unless you claim large deductions.
