UAE Take-Home Salary Calculator (2026)

There is no personal income tax on salaries in the UAE. Expatriates take home their full salary apart from the small ILOE unemployment insurance premium (AED 60 or 120 a year). UAE nationals also pay 11% of their salary to the GPSSA pension fund, on salaries between AED 3,000 and 70,000 a month.

Worked example

Mariam, a UAE national in the private sector, earns AED 30,000 a month with a basic salary of AED 18,000. She pays no income tax. GPSSA takes 11% = AED 3,300 a month; her employer pays 15% (AED 4,500) because her salary is over AED 20,000. Her ILOE premium is AED 10 a month (AED 120 a year) because her basic salary is over AED 16,000.

Take-home pay: AED 320,280 a year, about AED 26,690 a month. An expatriate on the same salary keeps AED 359,880 a year: only the ILOE premium is paid.

Why there is no tax line

The UAE does not tax individuals on salary. Corporate tax (9% since 2023) applies to businesses, not to employees' wages. VAT of 5% applies to what you buy, not to your pay. So for an expatriate, gross salary and take-home pay are almost the same.

For employers

Running payroll by hand (tax tables, contributions, payslips, filings) is routine work that AI workers now handle with almost no staff time. See what an employee really costs you, or book a free automation audit for your payroll.

Please note: figures follow the published 2026 rates as checked on 21 October 2026 for a resident employee in the standard case. Not included: Abu Dhabi Pension Fund members, GCC nationals (home-country rates), voluntary pension savings schemes and any VAT on the ILOE premium. This is a guide, not tax advice; your payslip can differ because of tax codes, benefits and timing.
