Worked example

Paolo earns P30,000 a month. Deductions each month: SSS P1,500 (5% of the P30,000 salary credit), PhilHealth P750 (2.5%) and Pag-IBIG P200 (capped).

Taxable pay is P360,000 − P18,000 − P9,000 − P2,400 = P330,600 a year. Tax is 15% of the P80,600 above P250,000 = P12,090 a year (P1,007.50 a month).

Take-home pay: P318,510 a year, or P26,542.50 a month, plus 13th-month pay, tax-free up to P90,000.

13th-month pay

Every rank-and-file employee is entitled to 13th-month pay of at least one-twelfth of basic salary earned in the year, paid by 24 December. It is tax-free together with other bonuses up to P90,000 a year. This calculator shows your regular monthly pay only, so add your 13th-month pay on top.

For employers

Running payroll by hand (tax tables, contributions, payslips, filings) is routine work that AI workers now handle with almost no staff time. See what an employee really costs you, or book a free automation audit for your payroll.

Please note: figures follow the published 2026 rates as checked on 21 October 2026 for a resident employee in the standard case. Tax is worked out on the yearly figure; semi-monthly withholding tables give almost the same result. Not included: 13th-month pay and bonuses, de minimis benefits, overtime and night differential, minimum wage exemption, and the employee compensation (EC) part of SSS. This is a guide, not tax advice; your payslip can differ because of tax codes, benefits and timing.
